To be launched soon, deliveries are schedule to commence during the September-October 2016 period. Expected launch price in Russia is to be in the region of 300,000 Rubles (INR 3.06 lakh), making it the cheapest passenger car on offer in the country.

Cheapest car on offer in Russia today is the Daewoo Matiz, which is priced at 314,000 Rubles (INR 3.21 lakh), then comes Lifan Smily and Celliya, each priced at 365,000 Rubles (INR 3.72 lakh). Then comes Ravon R2, which is priced at 369,000 Rubles (INR 3.76 lakh).

The reason Russian auto industry is going through a turmoil. Passenger car sales have declined for fourth year in a row. Launch of cheap cars is on the rise as their demand in the market is increasing.

At such a time, Bajaj could be hoping for an impressive response from customers in Russia. Some seems to have already found a liking towards this new car. Watch a customer having fun with Bajaj Qute in the snow.

Bajaj Qute is powered by a 200 cc air cooled four stroke DTSI engine which delivers peak power of 13.5 PS and peak torque of 19.6 Nm. It is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and claims to deliver mileage of 36 kmpl.

First showcased as a concept at the 2012 Auto Expo, Bajaj Qute quadricycle was finally launched in December 2015. The major reason behind delay is because Bajaj wanted to launch the Qute in India first, as it was conceptualized completely in India, for buyers in India.

Sadly, due to PILs filed in Indian courts of it being an unsafe vehicle, Bajaj was not allowed to launch Qute in India. This is when the company was forced to start with its exports. The first country to receive Bajaj Qute was Turkey, where it was launched at a starting price of INR 3.84 lakh.

Bajaj Auto has also launched an online campaign to promote Qute called Free The Qute.

With India launch uncertain, Bajaj now aims to export 10,000 units of Qute globally during current fiscal.
