Maruti Suzuki India domestic sales for the month stand at 113,162 units.India’s largest car manufacturer, which holds a staggering 48% market share, has revealed sales report for the month of May 2016. Domestic sales stand at 113,162 units, while exports stand at 9,872 units.

Combined sales of the company stand at 123,034 units, which when compared to May 2015 report, when the company sold 114,825 units, is a growth of 7.1%.
Speaking about domestic sales, as compared to May 2015, performance during May 2016 is an increase by 10.6% whereas the exports have declined by 20.8%.

Pushing sales even higher for Maruti Suzuki India are their new cars like Baleno and Vitara Brezza. Both these cars have been a huge success among car buyers in the country. With these two cars, the automaker is sitting on an order book of over 1 lakh units, resulting in a waiting period of up to 10 months.

Maruti’s mini segment cars, Alto 800, Alto K10 and WagonR continue to register decline in sales. For May 2016, this segment registered sales of 33,105 units as against 35,062 units in May 2015. For the year 2016, the mini segment has posted consecutive decline in growth. The reason for this is most likely the launch of Renault Kwid.

Maruti’s bread and butter, the compact segment which has cars like Celerio, Swift, Ritz, Baleno and DZire, has posted sales of 46,554 units. This is a healthy growth of 11% as compared to May 2015 sales.
