It is based on the Wraith coupe and is powered by a 6.6 liter V12 twin turbocharged engine offering output of 563 bhp at 5,250 rpm and peak torque of 780 Nm at 1,500 rpm mated to an 8 speed transmission.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 4.9 seconds while the inclusion of dynamic acceleration pedal mapping allows for upto 30% increased response in medium throttle.
Rolls Royce Dawn, first showcased at 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show sees upto 80% new bodywork and a host of new features. These include a Satellite Aided Transmission with GPS indicating road ahead of the car which then adjusts transmission accordingly. It also receives BMW iDrive system with 16 speaker bespoke audio system and a new suspension system with new air springs and revised anti-roll bars.
The British automakers claim that Dawn will have quietest of cabins despite bearing a fabric roof. This roof expands and retracts in 22 seconds at a speed of 50 kmph. It is for this reason that the company has termed this as ‘Silent Ballet’.
Rolls Royce Dawn receives run flat tyres of size 20” which allows the vehicle to run on deflated tyres for 160 kms at speeds upto 80 kmph prior to a replacement, while 21” wheels are offered as an option. It is seen with a long bonnet, short overhangs in the front and longer overhangs at the rear along with a high shoulder line.
Interiors spell luxury where every aspect is concerned right from its rich leather upholstered seats to wood accents on its console and dashboard. Comfortably seating upto 4 adults, Rolls Royce Dawn has boot capacity of 244 to 295 liters, the most advanced Multimedia Interface and navigation system with includes a 10.25 HD navigation screen and Spirit of Ecstasy rotary controller with gesture sensitive touchpad.
