The hatchback which is a part of the automaker’s medium term product onslaught is currently under development.The X541 is based on the new Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) which can be used to underpin an array of products with varying dimensions and body styles. Speaking of the body styles, a sedan version of the X451 is also reported to be on the anvil to rival the Honda City and Maruti Ciaz.
It seems Tata will finally realize the vision of a premium sedan which was previewed by the Pininfarina designed Pr1ma concept. Coming back to the hatchback, the Baleno rivals will feature a brand new design language which would be an extension of the IMPACT design theme which debuted in the Tiago.
The new renderings by Overdrive point to a sleek looking hatchback which finally ditches the familiar Indica silhouette. Peeled back headlamps with projector elements, narrow grille with humanity line, low-mounted foglights with integrated LED daytime running light elements, a low-slung profile and a fresh rear fascia are likely to be the design highlights.
Interior would be inspired by the Nexon’s multi-layered design. One can expect the material quality to be at par with the segment.The Tata X451 premium hatchback would adopt new four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The car is not expected to be ready before 2018.
