Only 15 units of the Perfect Black edition will be sold in Japan. GM is attempting to create a buzz around a product which is nearing the end of its product lifecycle.

he special edition differentiates itself from the regular variant by means of Carbon Flash metallic exterior paint job, 19-inch black finished alloy wheels and subtle silver graphics. Inside, the seats are upholstered in black leather with titanium colored contrast stitching.

The first and second row seats incorporate heating function. The SUV also receives a 10.2-inch infotainment system from Pioneer with TV tuner, reverse parking camera and DVD player.

The Captiva for Japan is powered by a 2.4-litre EcoTec petrol engine which is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The motor dishes out 167 PS and 230 Nm of torque.


In India, the Captiva never managed to make a strong case for itself as a premium 7-seat SUV. The crossover has been replaced by the ladder-frame Trailblazer recently. GM India is currently in the process of redefining its product portfolio by discontinuing slow sellers and introducing fresh models.
