Will be a limited production run.Fastest Ferrari in the history, the LaFerrari has officially dropped the top. Scheduled to make global debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show later this year, these are the first official photos of what is ‘most likely’ to be called as LaFerrari Spyder.

‘Most likely’ because Ferrari has not confirmed the convertible sports car’s new name, all they revealed were a couple of photos. To be powered by the same setup underneath, LaFerrari Spyder will be produced in limited numbers. As of now, it is not clear as to what this limited number will be. What Ferrari has confirmed is that the open top LaFerrari will be offered either with a carbon hard top or a removable soft top, depending on the buyer’s preference.

Powering the LaFerrari Spyder will be a hybrid setup of 789hp V12 and 160 hp electric motor, together generating peak power of 950hp (963PS). Acceleration and top speed figures are still under wraps. Just to clarify, the LaFerrari does 0-100 kmph in 2.4 seconds, 0-160 kmph in 4.7 seconds, 0-240 kmph in just 9.8 seconds and has a top speed of 349 kmph.

Ferrari has stated that the chassis of Spyder has been modified extensively. This has been done so as to offer same torsional rigidity and beam stiffness as the LaFerrari. Aerodynamics too have been revised so as to keep those acceleration and top speed numbers almost same.
