Renault India ties up with Paytm for easy booking and payment options for the Renault Kwid.

Launched last year, Renault Kwid sales have crossed the 9k mark in June 2016. Kwid sales during June 2016 stood at 9,459 units, making it the fifth best-selling car in India for the month.

Maruti Suzuki’s Swift, which usually features in the top 4, moved to the sixth position as it registered low sales of just 9,033 units. Decline in sales of Maruti Swift was due to two reasons – plant closure due to scheduled maintainence and the huge fire at Maruti’s vendor.

Talking about Kwid, buying the Renault Kwid just got easier as Renault India and Paytm have entered into a joint arrangement whereby buyers can book the car and pay via their Paytm accounts. For a start, this offer is exclusive to buyers in the Delhi/NCR. Renault India and Paytm will take this arrangement to other cities across India and to other Renault models as well in the future.

Customers planning to buy Kwid via PayTm, will be able to book their Renault Kwid for a down payment of INR 10,000 on Paytm and can also take advantage of attractive offers on booking within a specific time frame. Once the vehicle is booked, company dealership will get in touch with customers to take on further process of purchase and delivery, while documentation, loan process and other formalities will also be taken care of by the dealerships.

This is not the first time that automakers have partnered with e-commerce websites for car sales. This facility was also offered to buyers of Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki vehicles who have tied up with e-commerce websites for sales, while a large number of automakers sell their products via e-commerce sites – Flipkart and Snapdeal.

Paytm has also received overwhelming response to its 2 wheeler category in the past. It has a user base of over 125 million persons and is optimistic of the car vertical to be highest growing category in its online shopping platform.
