Perodua, the largest car maker in Malaysia, was founded in 1993. They have just launched their first ever sedan, called Bezza. This new car is considered to be the game changer of Malaysian automotive industry.

Perodua Bezza is priced at RM 37,300 to RM 50,800 (INR 6.23 lakhs to INR 8.49 lakhs). It is offered in five variants across Standard G, Premium X and Advance trims and is based on the Axia platform.

Deriving its name from the Malay word ‘beza’ which means different, the top end Perodua Bezza has received 5 Star rating in ASEAN NCAP while lower variants get 4 Stars due to lack of Vehicle Stability Control. This is still much better than what we get here in India, in terms of safety.

Perodua Bezza measures 4,150 mm in length, 1,620 mm in width and 1,510 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,455 mm. It is powered by Toyota-sourced petrol engines to include a 1.0 liter VVT-i three-cylinder petrol engine offering 67 hp power and 91 Nm torque and a 1.3 Dual VVT-i four cylinder petrol engine capable of 94 hp power and 121 Nm torque. These engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or 4-speed automatic.

Boasting of a large boot, a spacious cabin and rear seat backs that split fold 60:40, Perodua Bezza receives features that include remote boot release, one-touch power windows, parking sensors and reverse camera. It also gets keyless entry, push button start and infotainment features such as UBS port, 2 DIN touchscreen audio system and MirrorLink connectivity.

The company has seen immediate and overwhelming response to the Perodua Bezza and already received 4,028 bookings with deliveries set to commence from Friday. The company has promised timely delivery despite the fact that they have only 7,000 units in stock.
