Now delivering Volkswagen Ameo in India

Deliveries of the Volkswagen Ameo has commenced. The first sub-compact sedan from the company, Ameo was showcased at 2016 Auto Expo, following which it was taken across India on a road show to garner the attention of buyers.

Priced from INR 5.14 lakh, India is the only country where Ameo has been launched as of now. One of the largest car exporter in India, VW will start the export of Ameo at a later stage.

Produced from Volkswagen plant in Chakan near Pune, the new Ameo will be presented with two fuel options to include a 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder MPI and a 1.5 liter, 4 cylinder TDI. But as of today, only the 1.2 liter petrol engine is on offer, diesel engine will be launched at a later date.

Talking about features, VW Ameo receives cruise control, reverse parking camera, rain sensing wipers, power windows, automatic climate control and static cornering lights. It also gets dual front airbags and ABS as standard.

Available in 3 trims – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline, the Volkswagen Ameo is positioned on VW Polo platform and will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Figo Aspire in the compact sedan segment.
