Showcased as a concept earlier this year at the 2016 Auto Expo, TVS Akula 310 has entered the public road testing phase. The spy shot you see here, is the first ever of the upcoming TVS fully faired sports bike.

Expected to be launched later this year, the new TVS Akula 310 concept is based on the BMW G310R naked bike. Upon launch, we believe that the Akula 310 will be christened as Apache 300.

Akula 310 will be the most powerful TVS motorcycle to be launched till date. TVS claims that the Akula is a result of their over 30 years of experience in racing (TVS Racing). Design of the Akula is inspired from killer sharks. Interestingly, it is also the reason why the concept was named Akula (In Russian, Akula means Shark).

Powered by the same 313 cc single cylinder engine of BMW G310R. The motor delivers 34 hp and 28 Nm torque via a six-speed manual transmission. Features on offer aboard TVS Akula concept includes race-spec aluminium TRELLIS sub frame, race tuned engine, gill vents in the front for thermal efficiency, muscular fuel tank, twin LED projector lamps, dual channel ABS, Pirelli tyres, split seats, stubby silencer, USD front fork, mono shock rear, digital instrument console, etc.

With the Akula entering road test phase, it seems that TVS plans to launch the Akula first in India, rather than the BMW G310R. Once launched, Akula 300 will lock horns with upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS400, which is due for launch next month.

Below is a digital render of Akula 310 we created some months back.
