Toyota has come up with the second update for the Etios and Liva twins since their unveil in 2010. Called as the Toyota Etios Platinum in Brazil, the facelifted sedan and hatchback are expected to go on sale in India this festive season.

The facelifted sedan has been spotted in India several times with camouflaged front and rear fascias. The Brazilian version gives us a fair idea about what to expect in terms of design.

The front fascia witnesses a comprehensive design overhaul. While the headlamps are retained, the Etios gets a new grille which is composed of a chrome highlight and black honeycomb meshing. A sporty bumper with prominent black inserts replaces the outgoing car’s mundane unit.

Toyota hasn’t made any sheet metal changes but the new blackened alloy wheels and side body skirts (in top-end variant) spruce up the profile. Rear gets a spoiler and a reprofiled bumper.

Inside, the Brazilian version continues to sport a steering wheel that is derived from the Corolla, a new centre console with digital speedometer and infotainment system. The India-spec version is to adopt the same features albeit with a different color theme to suit locals tastes.

The Toyota Etios facelift and Liva facelift for India will continue to come with their existing petrol and diesel powertrains.
