India-made Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza debuts at Indonesia Auto Show

Launched in India earlier this year, at the 2016 Auto Expo, all-new Maruti Vitara Brezza sub 4-meter compact SUV has made its debut in Indonesia today at the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIAAS).

To be sold in Indonesia under the Suzuki banner, the made in India Vitara Brezza will be launched later this year in Indonesia. Here it will be sold only with a diesel engine and two transmission options, 5 MT and AT. Yes, Indonesian market becomes the first to get Maruti Vitara Brezza AT variant.

Engine option on offer is a 1,248 cc diesel four cylinder engine. This is the same engine which is also offered with the Vitara Brezza in India, but only with a 5 speed MT, and not an AT. India is expected to get an AMT variant early next year. This engine delivers 90 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Mileage claimed by this engine is 24.3 kmpl.

New Vitara Brezza has already been a hit in India. Last month, it managed to register sales of over 10,000 units, becoming the best-selling UV in the country. Along with supplying Vitara Brezza to Indian consumers, Maruti is also getting ready to export their new compact SUV to new markets.

Considering that petrol powered vehicles are more in demand in Indonesia, the company may soon offer the Brezza with a K-Series or BoosterJet petrol engine on launch in the country. Petrol Vitara Brezza is also in the pipeline for India.
