Royal Enfield Himalayan debuts at 2016 Indonesia Auto Show

Royal Enfield is showcasing the Himalayan for the first time in Indonesia. It was formally announced and introduced at the opening day of 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show at the Royal Enfield booth.

Speaking of the Himalayan for Indonesia, Rudratej Singh, President Royal Enfield was confident it will be well received and will perform efficiently due to similar road and climatic conditions in Indonesia as are prevalent in India. No pricing has been announced as on date.

Tested under challenging conditions of Himalayas, the RE claims that the Himalayan tackles rough terrain due to its new chassis, engine, rugged built, high ground clearance of 220mm and efficient braking.

Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a 411cc single cylinder, 4 stroke SOHC engine offering 24.5 bhp power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm torque at 4,000-4,500 rpm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The bike weighs 182 kgs and is fitted with a fuel tank of 15-liter capacity. It sits on wheels measuring 21” in diameter front and 17” in diameter at the rear making sure it is capable enough to tackle all sorts of terrain.

Himalayan is the newest motorcycle from one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. In India, where the bike was launched earlier this year, has received mixed response. Some owners are not happy, while some are content with RE’s claims of the Himalayan.
