The much awaited Suzuki GSX-R250, which might be called the Gixxer 250, has been spotted testing recently. In the pics of the testing, the fully camouflaged test mule of the mini GSX-R looks quite like the leaked sketches. The images reveal the rear section of the bike, which is almost identical to the sketched model. The only difference seems to be in the exhaust muffler, which was looking influenced by the bigger GSX-R600/GSX-R750 in the leaked sketches, but is an an all-new design on the spied bike.

Nowadays, most major bikemakers are focusing on the entry-level and mid-size motorcycle market since these machines are rapidly gaining popularity. Austrian brand KTM has already gained success with its entry-level Dukes and RCs, followed by Yamaha's YZF-R25 and the R3. Following in their footsteps, Honda also revealed the new CBR250RR. Now, it seems that Suzuki will also join the race soon.

We can say that the upcoming baby Suzuki GSX will be influenced by its elder siblings, especially at the front. Looking at the positioning of the handlebar, the bike seems to be designed for a little less aggressive seating posture, like the Yamaha R3. It will get a raised tail section, as you can see in the pictures, and the new alloy wheels will be similar to the leaked sketches of the bike. You can also see a petal disc brake on the rear wheel of the test mule, which indicates that the front will also get a petal-type unit. Suspension set-up is expected to comprise of normal telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

A liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine is expected to power the Suzuki Gixxer 250. However, some reports suggest that the company might be working on a parallel-twin motor for the new bike. There are also speculations that the bike might also come in a 300cc trim, like the Yamaha R25 and R3.

Expected to be introduced at the upcoming Milan Motorcycle Show in November, the baby GSX-R could enter the markets sometime next year.
