Both Etios and Etios Liva continue to be one of the top choice of fleet and taxi operators in India. But their popularity as a private car has been waning steadily. The cosmetic update offered with the facelift is aimed at enhancing its appeal and squeeze more life out of it before the arrival of a significant update.

The most significant change comes in the form of a new grille which drops the smiley elements in favour of a trough-shaped air-intake. A redesigned bumper with new secondary air dam and fog light enclosures round off the front end design.

Profile of both cars have been retained without any changes while the rear fascia receives reprofiled bumper. Also seen is a chrome strip on the boot lid (only with sedan). Inside, the multi-function flat-bottomed steering wheel is new. The centre-mounted instrument console remains same as before, and does not get digital console like the Brazilian version.

Speaking about engine options, the 90 PS 1.5-litre petrol and 68 PS 1.4-litre diesel engines are expected to continue without any change. The standard transmission option will continue to be a 5-speed manual unit.
