The Hyundai Creta (called as ix25 in China) has been teased ahead of its launch in Brazil. The compact crossover seems to be on track for its Brazilian debut at 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show in November.

Compared to the India-spec Hyundai Creta, the one which will go on sale will be a bit different, as noticed in the teasers. To start with, Brazilian Creta has a chrome lining surrounding the front grille, revised bumper style, and horizontal fog lamps. At the rear, tail lamp design is revised, while there is a thin chrome lining running between the tail-lamps.

Most of the parts of Creta for Brazil are most likely sourced from India (an import export website log shows that few units of Creta have been shipped to South America). Local media reports that Hyundai’s Brazilian factory would be prepared for the local assembly of the Creta which is set to commence sometime towards the end of 2016.

The Latin American Creta would be adopting a flex-fuel version of the 1.6-litre engine which is modified to run on both petrol and ethanol. The motor would produce 128 PS while running on ethanol. Transmission options include 6-speed MT and AT units. Only FWD variants are expected to be on offer.

According to local media, Hyundai Brazil is benchmarking the Creta against the Honda HR-V. Competition would also come from the Renault Duster.
