Bajaj VS400 will have launch under new brand name instead of Pulsar
As the launch date of the Bajaj VS400 nears, the motorcycle is increasingly getting clicked by spyshot hunters. From spying the bike in and around Pune, to catching it undisguised in Leh, we have every stage of its development in the form of regular spy shots after the bike was first showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo.

Based on the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 Concept, it has led us to believe that the upcoming VS400 will also be launched under the Pulsar nameplate. But, that is not going to happen, if we are to believe a new report.
As per the new report, Bajaj will not launch VS400 under their brand Pulsar. And instead, will launch it under a completely new brand name. If this is true, then it seems like a last minute change in marketing strategy, as the leaked brochure scans, or the images which were clicked during the TVC shoot in Leh, clearly showed Pulsar name.
The styling remains unchanged as compared to the concept which was unveiled in 2014. We are happy that Bajaj retained the futuristic looking LED headlamps (a first for an Indian motorcycle). Other highlights include a fully digital instrument console, meaty tyres, stylish radiator shrouds, muscular fuel tank with extensions and an auxiliary instrument display, split seats (concept had single piece seat), stubby silencer and the trademark twin LED taillight strips.
The key difference between the concept and the real deal is the front suspension set up. Whereas the concept employed a USD telescopic fork, the production version settles for a regular telescopic unit. The rear is suspended by a monoshock.
The new VS400 employs a disc brake at each wheel and the top-end variant would offer dual channel ABS. The engine is expected to be derived from the KTM 390 family but it will sport triple spark technology and revised gear ratios. The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is slated to be launched later this month. The price is estimated to start at around INR 1.5 lakhs.
