VW India launches new Ameo diesel version
The VW Ameo India-specific compact sedan which was launched in June is available only in petrol version as of now. At that time, VW India had said they are working on an update for the 1.5-litre TDI engine and hence the launch of diesel Ameo was delayed.

Today is the day when VW India launches the new Ameo diesel.
Based on the Polo / Vento platform, Ameo is the most affordable car on offer in the VW India line-up currently. It was built at an investment of INR 750 crore and is being produced at VW’s plant in Pune.
Not much about the upgraded diesel engine is known as of now but we can expect tweaks aimed at improving the outputs and fuel efficiency. As of now, the motor in question is available in two states of tune – 90 PS and 230 Nm of torque, and 105 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The more powerful version will be powering the Ameo. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG.
After debuting in the Ameo, the updated motor is would eventually make its way under the hoods of Polo, Vento and their respective Skoda counterparts.
Meanwhile, VW India recently introduced two after sales service package of the Ameo. Called VW Care and VW Care Plus, the packages are aimed at enhancing the ownership experience. The VW Care Plus offers 2+2 years extended warranty (up to 1,00,000 km), service value pack (4 free services – 4 years/ 60,000 km), road side assistance (2+2 years), two free inspection services, one free exterior cleaning treatment, and one free dry wash clean.
The VW Care offers 2+1 year/80,000 km extended warranty, service value pack (3 free services in 3 years/45,000), road side assistance (2+1 years) and one free inspection.
