Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has announced the launch of 2017 model of the Hayabusa (GSX1300R) in India. One of the most popular and cult superbikes on the planet, the Suzuki Hayabusa has received new colour schemes for 2017 that include Glass Sparkle Black / Pearl Glacier White (AGT), Pearl Vigor Blue / Glass Sparkle Black (BBD) and Glass Sparkle Black (YVB). Thanks to the CKD operation started in March this year, the new model also comes with a reduced price tag of Rs 13.88 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).

Introduced in 1999, Suzuki Hayabusa was the most powerful and fastest production motorcycle of its time, and still, it is counted among the best drag motorcycles due to its massive power and torque. The fan following of this bike is more than evident among motorcycling fans around the world including India. Powering the latest generation 2017 Suzuki Hayabusa is the 1,340cc inline-four engine that generates 195PS of power at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 155Nm at 7,200rpm. The liquid-cooled motor gets features like EFI with dual throttle valve, forged pistons, PVD-coated rings, titanium valves and iridium spark plugs for better performance.

Along with features like inverted front forks, rear link-type monoshock and wide Bridgestone tyres for superior grip, the Suzuki Hayabusa also gets three engine maps with Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system, advanced Brembo Monobloc brake calipers and high-performance ABS as standard.

Since the introduction of the CKD version, the sales of the Suzuki Hayabusa have shown a 100 per cent growth, resulting in a long waiting period. So, the company is also working to increase the local assembly capacity for the bike to reduce delivery time for the new model.
