Sales Figures From January Till November 2016 Surpass That Of The Whole Calendar Year Of 2015

German automaker Mercedes-Benz has achieved total unit sales of 18,93,619 in the first eleven months of 2016. That means that the auto major has already surpassed the total number of unit sales for the whole of last year. In November 2016, 1,82,602 automobiles with the three-pointed star were delivered to customers worldwide. During the same month, Mercedes-Benz was the premium automotive brand with the most new-car registrations in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, USA, Mexico, Canada, Japan and Taiwan.

Confirming the feat achieved, Ola Källenius, member of board of management of Daimler AG, responsible for marketing and sales of Mercedes-Benz cars, said, “With double-digit growth since the beginning of the year, we surpassed last year’s total unit sales by the Mercedes-Benz brand already in November. This makes 2016 a new record year for Mercedes-Benz.”

The growth percentage for November 2016 was the highest in Europe, followed closely by that of China. The consolidated sales figure for Europe alone was 78,797, out of which 25,599 vehicles were sold in Germany alone. The German carmaker achieved its best-ever figures in Great Britain, Spain, France and Belgium.

In the Asia-Pacific region, the Stuttgart-based auto major clocked 63,918 unit sales in November 2016, out of which 42,310 were sold in China alone. The company claimed that the new E-Class and the SUVs – which sold in record numbers this November – helped achieve the sales milestone.

Come 2017, the three-pointed star will launch its new E-Class sedan in more markets such as India. The company is also readying itself to launch an all-terrain variant of the E-Class – which was showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show – in the first half of 2017.
