Suzuki is all set to unveil their all-new generation Swift hatchback in Japan next month. Ahead of that, the car’s official brochure has been leaked online via Suzuki Blog.
Suzuki is all set to unveil their all-new generation Swift hatchback in Japan next month. Ahead of that, the car’s official brochure has been leaked online via Suzuki Blog.
Featuring a more sportier design, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will be lighter and more spacious than the current Swift, which will be discontinued once the new gen model is launched.
As per the leaked brochure, new Swift will be offered with both petrol as well as mild hybrid tech. Price in Japan starts from ¥ 1.3 million (INR 7.75 lakh) for base petrol 2WD variant to ¥ 1.9 million (INR 11.21 lakh) for top-end hybrid 4WD variant. All variants are standard 5 door versions, while the sportier 3 door version will be launched at a later date.
Speaking about engine options, the 1.2 liter petrol motor which delivers 91 PS and is also mated to a mild hybrid SHVS tech, claims to deliver 27.4 kmpl.
While the 1.0 liter turbo 3 cylinder motor delivers 101 PS and claims to deliver 20.0 kmpl. Transmission options on offer are 5 speed MT and CVT.
Speaking about features, next gen global supermini will sport multi-function steering wheel with chrome inlays, and a modern instrument console with color MID.
The dashboard also receives exterior body-colored horizontal insert, a dual-DIN audio system (higher variants receive a touchscreen infotainment system), circular air-con vents and a familiar gear knob.
In India, the new gen Swift is expected to come with the 1.0-liter BoosterJet turbo petrol motor, 1.2-litre K-series petrol (some variants with SHVS).
Suzuki is likely to replace the ageing 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine with a new homegrown mill. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be on offer.
