The new gen E Class measures 4,923 mm in length (43 mm longer) and has a wheelbase of 2,939 mm (65 mm longer). Thanks to aerodynamic surfaces, the luxury sedan has an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.23 Cd.

Internationally, the 2017 Mercedes E Class is available in two engines – E 200 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor which puts out 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque, and a E 220 d 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine which is good for 195 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The two above options are expected to make it to India as well.

Down the line, the new gen E will gain a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine (E 350 d) outputting 258 PS and 620 Nm of torque, and a E 350 e petrol hybrid variant (2.0-litre engine + electric motor) with a system output of 279 PS and 600 Nm of torque. All the engines will come with a standard 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.

The 2017 E Class is packed up its gills with latest safety and comfort features. Apart from the optional fully digital instrument console which is derived from the S Class, the saloon offers a 12.3-inch centre console infotainment display, LED headlights, LED ambient lighting with 64 color options, touch sensitive media buttons on steering wheel, Burmester sound system, two optional suspension systems (DIRECT CONTROL with selective damping and AIR BODY CONTROL), Attention Assist, Drive Pilot (adaptive cruise control up to 210 kmph), Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function, Evasive Steering Assist, Remote Parking Pilot, Car-to-X communication, Pre-Safe, and and many more.
