The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire finally went on sale in India yesterday. Bookings for the sub-4 m sedan began on May 5, 2017 and the company, at the launch event, confirmed that it has received over 33,000 bookings by far. The side effect to that kind of popularity is the extension of waiting period, which is already stretching to eight weeks.

While the company works to up the production to meet the ever-growing demand of its products in India, it will also export the new-gen 2017 Dzire to markets outside India. Apart from neighbouring countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan, the Japanese carmaker will also export it to several markets in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Now that is some goal, especially when the company is struggling to meet the demand of its popular products like the Baleno and Vitara Brezza in India. Based on how the previous-gen Swift Dzire sold in the country and the huge fan following of the brand, the new one will take no time to sell at a similar pace and achieve the best-selling tag in its segment.

The facility in Gujarat is the newest of the lot and has been strategically placed for the ease of transporting products that have to be exported, to the shipping ports. The Dzire, for other markets, is likely to be built in Gujarat as well.
