Land Rover has added another variant of the Range Rover in India. It is called the SVAutobiography Dynamic and is priced at Rs 2.79 crore (ex-showroom India). At this price, it sits as the third most expensive variant, out of the fifteen, of the company’s flagship SUV model currently on sale in India. The initials SV mean that it has been designed and engineered by Jaguar’s in-house tuning division - Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).

Unfortunately, the Dynamic trim of the SVAutobiography isn’t available in Range Rover’s long-wheelbase avatar. Having said that, even in its standard size, it is still one of the most sought after vehicles in the premium SUV segment. Under the hood of the big, brash gas guzzler lies a 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 petrol engine that produces 551PS of power and 680Nm of torque. Mated to the engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the road via a four-wheel drive system. Even though the SUV’s gross weight is north of 3 tonnes, it can complete the 0-100kmph run in 5.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 250kmph.

Fun Fact: The engine is the same as what powers the limited-run Jaguar XE SV Project 8and the recently revealed Jaguar XJ575.

No points for guessing, the SUV comes stacked to its gills with creature comfort features. Apart from that, the SVO team has equipped the Ranger Rover SVAutobiography with diamond quilted seats, which is available in a choice of four interior colours with ‘Autobiography’ stitching. There are also unique finishing touches like Graphite Atlas accents, distinctive red Brembo branded calipers and exclusively designed alloy wheels.

Interested customers can get in touch with any of the 25 authorised dealers across the country. Its closest rivals include two AMG-powered Mercedes-Benz models - the G 63 and the GLS 63 - and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.
