Behind Sonam Kapoor’s Cannes shine

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor’s looks have ruled the ongoing 69th Cannes International Film Festival in France. The cosmopolitan beauty has won not only with her dress sense, but her jewellery choices have been impeccable and innovative.

City-based jewellery designer, Sunahi Pittie, who is the creative brains behind the stunning pieces shares, “Sonam has always championed our work and has worn our pieces for many of her events and appearances.”

“This year we created a new ornament all together called the ‘Linkcollete’, which is earrings linked at the back like a necklace,” she adds.

“Besides this, Sonam also sported the tattoo midi rings acrylic, gold-plated copper earrings and pearl ear buttons. We made around five to six for the festival,” says Suhani.

This was Sonam’s fifth appearance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival Suhani has always been her choice for jewellery at the event, ever since her first red carpet walk in 2012.

Recounting how their relationship began, Suhani says, “In 2011, Rhea Kapoor was spotted wearing one of my zipper chokers, from the collection Grunge Begum, and that’s where it started.

The sisters have such impeccable sense of aesthetics and style and so much confidence; they are always game to trying out something new, which as a designer excites me.”
