The SME Excellence Awards, which are slated to be presented on the occasion of second anniversary of The Hans India on July 15, will recognise SMEs for their contribution to manufacturing, services and exports. The awards also recognize those who support SMEs in enhancing their competitiveness. A total of 12 awards will be given in various categories. Last date for submitting applications for the awards is July 1.

Besides the awards, The Hans India is also holding one-day state-level conference on 'Revitalising the SMEs'. In addition, there will be an exhibition in which bankers and others will showcase their products and services.

The Hans India to honour SMEs with Excellence Awards

Hyderabad: Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), considered as the backbone of Indian economy and often described as the country's growth engine, account for major chunk of industrial output, exports and employment generation. But, unfortunately, the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the SME sector goes unnoticed and many entrepreneurs in this space, despite their innovative thinking and inventive expertise, remain unsung heroes.

The Hans India, the newspaper with a difference, is keen to change this and inject a new sense of prides among SMEs in Andhra Pradesh by honouring best among them with Excellence Awards

The SME Excellence Awards, which are slated to be presented on the occasion of second anniversary of The Hans India, will recognise SMEs for their exceptional contribution in the fields of manufacturing, service, exports and for other innovative concepts. The awards also recognize those who support SMEs in sharpening their competitive edge.

The novel initiative, undertaken by Hyderabad Media House Limited which owns The Hans India and HMTV news channel, is an attempt to motivate existing and emerging entrepreneurs to succeed in their respective fields. Besides, the award winners will act as role models for encouraging entrepreneurship in the State and beyond. The occasion also offers a platform for the recipients to interact with investors and other partners for their sustained growth.

Conference, Expo on SMEs Besides the awards on July 15, The Hans India is also organizing one-day state-level conference on the theme, 'Revitalising the SMEs', at Hotel Marriot in Hyderabad. The conference will bring SMEs, policy makers, bankers and other experts in SME space onto a common platform. It will discuss challenges faced by SMEs and other critical issues related to the crucial sector.

Concurrently, there will be an exhibition in which bankers, financial institutions, technology providers, consultants, etc, will showcase their services and products beneficial to the SME sector.
