Hyderabad: The decision taken by the central government to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, has ended uncertainty and now there is a need to think about future, said Sangita Reddy, Chairperson, AP State Council, FICCI. “I am happy that decision has been taken finally to end the uncertainty and ambiguity in the region. Now we need to think about the future. The future is bright for both the regions,” said Ms Reddy, who is also Executive Director of Apollo Hospitals Group.

She however underscored the need to develop a framework for both the regions after proper and judicial allocation of assets and liabilities. “It needs to be a win-win situation for both the regions post bifurcation,” she added. Pointing out that corporate India was expecting stability, progress and good governance in the region, she said: “Growth of economy in both regions is important. History of smaller states implies that the growth rate is faster”.

Meanwhile, Dr Hari Prasad, CEO-Central Region, Apollo Hospitals, said with decision finally taken, Hyderabad could soon become a global hub for ‘service industry in general and health sector in particular’.

Saying that clarity, stability and focus are critical for any community, he pointed out that this region has suffered from dilution of these critical components over the last few years and it has not been of help to any sector. “With a decision being finally taken, stability and focus will return and this will help the region on all fronts. Brand Hyderabad has a tremendous global potential which can be truly leveraged now,” Prasad added.
