A generic equivalent of Depakote ER (divalproex sodium), the tablets are used for the treatment of seizures disorders.

Hyderabad: City-based pharma firm Dr Reddy’s Laboratories launched Divalproex Sodium Extended - Release Tablets in the strengths of 250 mg and 500 mg in the US market following approval from the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA). A generic equivalent of Depakote ER (divalproex sodium), the tablets are used for the treatment of seizures disorders.
“Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories announced that it has launched Divalproex Sodium Extended - Release Tablets, USP (250 mg and 500 mg), a therapeutic equivalent generic version of Depakote ER (divalproex sodium) Tablet, Extended Release in the US market on August 19, 2013. Dr. Reddy’s ANDA for Divalproex Sodium Extended- Release Tablets, USP was approved by the USFDA,” Dr Reddy’s said in a statement.
The Depakote ER brand and generic had combined US. sales of nearly $194 millionfor the most recent twelve months ending in June 2013, according to IMS Health. “The 250 mg tablets of the drug are available in bottle count sizes of 100 and 500 mg are available in bottle count sizes of 100 and 500,” the statement added.
