Rajahmundry: ONGC, Rajahmundry Asset, has started direct marketing of natural gas to the consumers from its Penugonda field in Poduru mandal of West Godavari district. P Krishna Rao, Group General Manager-Asset Manager, Rajahmundry Asset, inaugurated the facility on Friday. PV Sateesh Kumar, General Manager-Surface Manager, and other senior officers were present on the occasion. Krishna Rao said currently the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas allocated 10,000 Standard Cubic Metres of Gas per day to Silica Ceramics. The supply contract would be in vogue for two years, he added.
“ONGC has identified potential gas reserves in the region, which could cater to the energy requirements of small industrial units.
The company is geared up to step up production in the region as soon as the consumer gets allocation from the ministry,” Rao revealed. ONGC’s Rajahmundry Asset began direct marketing of gas from Mandapeta field in East Godavari district a month ago.
