Public sector Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has achieved a turnover of Rs 7,819 crore during April-November, 2013 period, registering a growth when compared to the turnover in the same period last fiscal.
Hyderabad: Public sector Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has achieved a turnover of Rs 7,819 crore during April-November, 2013 period, registering a growth when compared to the turnover in the same period last fiscal.
Besides, the steelmaker registered three per cent upswing in the finished steel production in the eighth month period.
“The company’s finished steel production reached record levels of 2,36,838 tonnes during November month, the highest in a month in the current fiscal. The saleable steel production and value added steel represented a growth of two per cent during April-November, 2013 when compared to the corresponding period last year,” the company said in a release.
During the period, RINL was able to achieve 27 per cent growth in the blast furnace productivity, four per cent in specific energy consumption and two per cent in specific water consumption.
On the sales front, RINL registered 12 per cent rise in the sales of saleable steel and 11 per cent upswing in special steel sales. “The exports represented an impressive growth of 142 per cent at Rs 519 crore. The by-product sales during November touched to Rs 68 crore, the highest since inception,” it added.
