BMW Z4: You Won’t Go Unnoticed. BMW stood 14 in the list and became the only European country in the top fifteen.

Old wine; tweaked bottle... Fortune Magazine conducted a survey on the most admired companies in the world. BMW stood 14 in the list and became the only European country in the top fifteen. Well, evidently the BMW India is quite proud of it and makes it a point to talk about the survey whenever they are launching a vehicle or releasing a facelift.

But admiration to BMW must not have come from a 3 series, a 5 series? Or any other coupe? “Few vehicles are not meant for everyday exercise. They are made to address our philosophy… sheer driving pleasure… and that is what a Z4 is meant to do. These are for brand building,” shared Philip Von Sahr, Operations Head, BMW India while he launched the updated BMW Z4 sdrive35i in India.

That all about it, Z4 2014 for if you want to know what is new in the new Z4, you will definitely need four new magnifying glasses. When the current generation debuted as a 2009 model, it was available with both a naturally aspirated and turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine.

Last year, BMW scrapped the self-breather in favor of a turbocharged four banger, an updated the Z4 made its public debut at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show in January. The new beast produced 306 hp of power and 400nm torque. The vehicle revved form 0-100 in 5.1 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph.

That had made a lot of difference and was a leap on BMW’s forefront. But if you compare that uber-cool vehicle which you saw at Detroit Motor show with the new 2014 update, there is hardly any difference.

The new vehicle has been launched in India in two trims – BMW Z4 sDrive35i and BMW Z4 sDrive35i Design Pure Traction. Changes to the exteriors include new headlights (featuring new Corona LED rings and a LED accent on the top), tapered surround for side indicators and new alloy wheels. While in the inside, the changes are minimal, the seats are updated and even better updated with the ‘Design Pure Traction’ variant. The iDrive system is updated with iphone connectivity.

The vehicle will compete with the Merc SLK and Audi TT in India, and have been priced around the same.

The Bavarian motor manufacturer have priced the Z4 sDrive35i at Rs. 68.90 lakhs while the Design Pure Traction at Rs. 69.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).

The vehicle was built supreme, and a little ahead of time, so keeping minor alteration and launching facelifts is a pardonable mischief.

For, evidently nothing has been discounted on, this vehicles still dares all the stares on city streets for it looks and sounds amazing. This is that car which makes BMW one of the most admired companies in the world.
