The goal is to make the ‘Made in Telangana’ label a globally recognised brand for quality and innovativeness. I am aware that the Tata group has made my job a little easier by becoming our brand ambassador - K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday announced that his government would soon come up with the best incentive package for new investments, in addition to maintaining efficient business regulatory environment in the new state. Speaking after participating in the ground-breaking ceremony of Tata Advanced System Limited’s (TASL) new manufacturing facility here, he said a new industrial policy would be announced soon after taking inputs from industry bodies such as Fapcci and CII. “The goal is to make the ‘Made in Telangana’ label as a globally recognized brand for quality and innovativeness. I am aware that the Tata Group has made my job a little easier by becoming our brand ambassador,” he said.
The TASL’s ceremony was his first corporate event after he assumed charge as the first Chief Minister of Telangana. The company, a part of Tata Group, has roped in Europe’s RUAG Aviation to set up the new facility, which will make two key components - fuselage and wing - for Dornier 228 aircraft at Aerospace SEZ located in Adibatla in Ranga Reddy district. TASL already has three facilities at the SEZ.
Pointing out that the new facility demonstrated Tata Group’s faith in the state, he said: "It is our determination and strong endeavour that Telangana should emerge as a favourite destination for national and international investments and as a leader in aerospace and defence sector".
He further said there would an effective single window clearance system for all new investments. “This will be monitored in my office through a Special Chasing Cell, planned as a special purpose vehicle under the Information Technology and Investment Region (ITIR) Authority,” he explained.
All departments which have to give clearances for setting up of industries will be held to a strict timeline for review and approval of investment proposals. There will be no need for entrepreneurs to run around for clearances, he said.
Meanwhile, TASL intends to take with new partnership with RUAG Aviation forward as it is keen to build a full aircraft for the Switzerland-based company.
Pointing out that Tata-RUAG partnership is a glowing example of cooperation between India and Europe, S Ramadorai, Chairman, TASL, said: “Our vision is to work with RUAG in having a full aircraft, equipped with systems flying out from a Tata final assembly. This will be of significant importance to the Indian Armed forces in their desire to produce products locally”.
