Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) pulled the wraps off the face lifted models of Etios sedan and Liva hatchback in the city on Friday. The next gen cars were launched at Harsha Toyota, Madhapur, by actor Allari Naresh, Tollywood comedians Shiva Reddy and Raghubabu and Suresh Sundaram, vice president, sales, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The cars, which come with changes both inside and outside also get a new badging in their new avatars. Under the hood, both Etios and Liva facelifts carry over the same engines of their existing models. While Etios sedan gets power from the 1.5-litre petrol engine that can churn out 90 PS of power and 132 Nm of torque and a 1.4-litre diesel motor producing 68 PS power and 170 Nm of torque, Etios Liva comes with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel motor, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Suresh Sundaram said, “Etios is available in the price range of Rs 5,76,163 to Rs 7,20,476 (petrol variant) and Rs 6,86,163 and Rs 8,30,476 (diesel variant), ex-showroom Delhi and Etios Liva available in the price range of Rs 4,77,436 and Rs 6,64,996 (petrol variant) and Rs 6,02,336 and Rs 7,05,130 (diesel variant), ex-showroom in Hyderabad.”
Speaking at the launch, Allari Naresh said, "The new models have been launched to create a buzz during the festive season. The All New Etios aimed to provide a real sedan experience and comes with a new and refreshed premium look. The All New Etios Liva is aimed at offering the best of comfort and space of a home.”
KVVK Rangacharyulu, AGM, sales, said, “Toyota is constantly working towards developing better technology to provide enhanced safety. With increased accidents and growing concerns over safety, as a first step we have standardised driver and passenger airbags for Etios, Etios Liva and Etios Cross across all grades. We have also seen a growing importance of safety among customers nowadays. The standardisation of air bags across grades is to further reinforce this thought and ensure the safety of our customers and their families”
TKM has started a safety campaign to further this cause. The name of the campaign "We are safety leaders", signifies the company taking a lead to spread awareness on safety. THUMS (Toyota HUman Model for Safety) is the mascot for the campaign. Toyota's THUMS Technology is also used by research institutes and car companies across the automotive industry in Southeast Asia to improve safety.
The new Etios and Etios Liva will be available in Toyota showrooms across Telangana and AP. The company has a very well connected dealer network of (18) showrooms across the state to take care of growing customers in this segment.
