New Delhi: Sun Pharmaceutical Limited said court convened meeting of its shareholders has approved the scheme of amalgamation of Sun Pharma Global Inc with itself. The scheme of amalgamation of Sun Pharma Global Inc with Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has been 'approved by the equity shareholders with requisite majority,' Sun Pharma said.

A total of 99.99 per cent votes were polled in favour of amalgamation scheme, it added. Sun Pharma has been present in the US since 1996, working with the country's healthcare system with a focus on generics, branded generics and over-the-counter (OTC) products.
