Hyderabad: Tata Housing, real estate arm of Tata Group, on Monday announced the launch of the country’s first networking platform for brokers on the eve of World Brokers Day being celebrated on June 9.

Called ‘Bandhan’, the platform has been created with an aim to connect, educate, train and certify the broker community, in partnership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The platform, which is also the country’s first social network for brokers, aims at introducing standardized and transparent brokerage practices amidst a very large unorganized broker community, for the eventual benefit of consumers.

Apart from training, the platform will enable brokers to list the entire secondary market housing stock to be showcased across the country. “Despite playing a critical role in the buying cycle, brokers have never got their due respect because of the huge gap in the service expectation of the customer.

We believe a lot of credit for the growth of the real estate industry should have been given to brokers as they play a critical role in the buying cycle of a consumer,” said Brotin Banerjee, CEO and MD, Tata Housing.

The broker community is yet an unorganized work force and remains local in nature. With this platform, we not only wish to express our gratitude to the community but help them enhance their skills to serve the end consumer better, he added.

“Brokers have played a crucial role in the evolution of the real estate market. We believe this is a great initiative by Tata Housing that would help the broker community enhance their image and command respect that has been long due,” said Devina Ghildial, MD South Asia, RICS.
