Hyderabad: HSIL Ltd, a leading sanitaryware company, on Friday unveiled a range of water heaters here in collaboration with France-based Groupe Atlantico, a specialist in thermal comfort solutions. The launch marks HSIL’s foray into consumer products business. Being marketed under ‘hindware-atlantic’ brand, the water heaters will be available in various capacities ranging from one litre to 100 litre. They are priced from Rs 4,000 - Rs 12,000.

“Groupe Atlantic of France is a specialist in thermal comfort technology and atlantic water heaters hold the top position in France and among top five brands across Europe,” said Sandip Somany, Joint Managing Director, HSIL Ltd, told media here after launching new water heaters. Indian consumers today are very receptive towards tech-smart products, branded products which offers dependable after-sales, appreciates design and are aspiring for all round better lifestyle, he added.

“All these traits are visible in a cosmopolitan city, Hyderabad, which in turn makes it an ideal market for us to introduce the new range of smart water heaters here,” Somany said. The company is aiming at emerging as one among the top three players in water heaters market in India. The products will be available across key retails outlets of electrical, CDIT and organized retail.

“Hyderabad is amongst top three markets in India for water heaters. We are confident that consumers in the city and across the two states would find these products suitable for their requirement,” said Rakesh Kaul, President & Chief, Consumer Business, HSIL Ltd.

As of now, HSIL is importing the water heaters from Groupe Atlantic’s overseas plants as completely built units. However, it will set up a plant in India once sales volumes go up. The company expects to have a 12-14 per cent market share of the total water heater market in the country at the end of three years and turnover of Rs 200-250 crore per year.
