Hyderabad: Telengana government has set an ambitious target to roll out 500 mobile applications for m-governance, according IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan “We see bright future for mobile apps in the coming days says. We set a target to develop 500 apps for m-governance within a period of one year. Among them, 20 apps will be launched by Telangana Formation Day on June 2,” the IT Secretary said.

He was speaking at the Startup Summit organised here by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and supported by Google. We are enthused by the success of our recently launched app m-wallet which is used by transport department, he added. “Within a very less time, the app has 1 lakh downloads and it has become one of the top 10 apps in just three day,” he said.

According Vishwanath Alluri, founder, IMImobile, the Start-up summit is a great learning experience for many young entrepreneurs of the city as they get to not only network with other entrepreneurs, but also learn from valuable experiences of other successful entrepreneurs. “IAMAI is working closely with the industry and the government to support and boost the digital start-up community in India. The event in Hyderabad is a step forward towards that direction,” said Dr Subho Ray, President, IAMAI.
