FICCI Ladies Organisation to set up two centres in Guj
FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) is planning to set up two \'Mahila Huts\' in Gujarat for the upliftment of women belonging to all sections of the society through education and training.
Vadodara: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) is planning to set up two 'Mahila Huts' in Gujarat for the upliftment of women belonging to all sections of the society through education and training. FLO is the women wing of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) which encourages and facilitates women to showcase their talents, skills, experiences and energies across sectors.
"We plan to set up the 'Mahila Hut' at Vadodara and Ahmedabad," Gujarat unit FLO Chairperson Roopa Patel said. The city-based social entrepreneur further said: "I will request to Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) to give a plot to FLO for developing it, where a 'Mahila Hut' can be set up".
The centre will be a place where women belonging to all sections of the society, particularly the weaker ones, can display products made by them to earn a livelihood. The AMC has already agreed to give a plot to FLO for setting up a hut and the work will begin soon, she informed. Patel said her focus will is on empowering the girl-child and women.
