Hyderabad: City-based home nursing and professional care-giving services firm, Life Circle Health Services, has raised an investment of $150,000 (close to Rs 1 crore) from Groupe SOS, which operates mobile nursing units in France, providing home nursing and care-giving services to seniors. Apart from the investment, Groupe SOS will be sharing its technical knowhow and international best practices with Life Circle.

Being incubated at T-Hub, a public-private-partnership (PPP) initiative by the Telangana Government to support technology-enabled startups, Life Circle provides subscription-based professional care-giving and home nursing services to chronically-ill and bed-ridden seniors.

It plans to utilise the funds to deepen its services in Hyderabad, besides expanding its footprint to the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). The company aims to reach 20 cities in India by 2020.

“We have provided more than 150,000 hours of professional care-giving services so far. We differentiate our services by providing trained and verified caregivers, creating a seamless continuum of care, providing work related training and psychological counseling to caregivers to manage burnouts and providing flexible caregiver engagement to seniors,” Anant Kumar, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Life Circle, said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Srinivas Kollipara, Founder and Chief Operating Officer of T-Hub, “India’s senior citizen population is growing rapidly, with almost 36 per cent of urban seniors above 60 being immobile.

“This reaches 60 per cent by the time seniors are over 70. There is a pressing need for professional home nursing and care-giving services in India as family members are not able to take care alone of their loved ones,” Kumar added.
