Hyderabad: The annual general body meeting of Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (Hysea) held on Thursday unanimously elected Ranga Pothula, Vice-President and Centre Head (Hyderabad), Infor India Private Limited, as its next President for the term 2016-18. He takes over this responsibility from Ramesh Loganathan, Vice-President and Managing Director of Progress Software.

Prior to Infor, Pothula worked with Tata Consulting Engineers, CPRI, and supported many electrical industries as a consultant. As the Centre Head of Infor in India, he led the overall growth of Infor, both from headcount and competency standpoint, since 1995 at Hyderabad, by creating more jobs. Infor, which was originally Baan Info Systems, has just completed two decades in Hyderabad. Infor has grown the operations from 50 engineers and today to around 1,400 engineers in Hyderabad and around 1,900 engineers all around India.

“I see a great opportunity for Hysea to play a vital role in the ‘Digital India’ and ‘Startup India’ initiatives of the Centre, and in achieving the goal set by the Telangana government to double IT exports within the next five years from the current Rs 68,000 crore. I look forward to working with the industry leaders, SMEs, startup members in Hysea, and with the state towards making Hyderabad, the technology and innovation capital, and most preferred destination for IT in India,” Pothula said.
