New Delhi: Buoyed by the success of its flagship superphone Le 1, premium device Le Max and its first 'Made for India' Le 1s Eco, Chinese smartphones, televisions and virtual reality headsets maker LeEco (formerly LeTV) on Wednesday launched its next-generation superphones - Le 2 and Le Max 2 - on Flipkart and its e-commerce marketplace LeMall.com.

LeEco, touted as the Netflix of China, entered the Indian market with the launch of Le 1s and Le Max in early 2016. It has sold 500,000 units in the country between March and May 2016, with Le 1s becoming the number one model in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment and the best-selling superphone (as it calls the smartphones) on Flipkart.

Addressing a 2,000-odd gathering in New Delhi on Wednesday, Brian Hui, Senior Vice-President (LeMall global), LeEco, said with the launch of LeMall, the company had marked its venture into the e-commerce space in India. First launched in Mainland China in 2013, LeMall currently has presence in the US and Hong Kong as well.

The e-commerce platform's sales reached Rs 720 crore on a single day (December 12) last year. "LeMall.com will connect online and offline ecosystem integration and enables convenient purchases. Le 2 and Le Max 2, and the world's first CDLA (continual digital lossless audio) earphones using our proprietary technology launched today and other mobile accessories will be available on the e-commerce platform," he said.

Unveiling LeEco's second-generation of superphones, Atul Jain, Chief Operating Officer (smart electronics business), LeEco India, said the company was focusing on integration of software, content, services, applications and hardware. The Le 2, a successor to Le 1s, provides a 16-MP rear shooter and an 8-MP front camera.

The company also released new version of Le Max, which is Le Max 2. Powered by what LeEco claims to be the world's powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, the 5.7-inch phone comes with a combination of 4GB RAM and 32GB on board memory or 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM. Le 2 and Le Max 2 are priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 22,999 (for 4GB version), respectively.
