Hyderabad: Medium-sized public sector bank, Andhra Bank, on Wednesday launched ‘One-UPI’ app for public for easy transfer of funds and merchant payments using smartphones. The mobile solution is aimed at a less-cash and more-digital society, which leads to the creation of new solutions in the banking and financial services space.

Andhra Bank has partnered the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to introduce the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app in the first phase itself. Under this service, UPI enables to send and receive money using virtual payment address (VPA) like XXXX@andb without providing IFSC and bank account details.

“The Andhra Bank One-UPI app offers seamless and secure financial transaction facility between different bank accounts through single application on a 24x7 basis, the bank said in a statement. At present, the app is available only for Android users and the same is made available on Google Playstore, it added.
