Hyderabad: Dell EMC has partnered the Andhra Pradesh government to deliver cloud and data analytics solutions in healthcare. For EMC (now part of Dell EMC), this is the second engagement with the state.

As part of the agreement, DELL EMC will provide software solutions for MahilaMaster Health Checkup (MMHC), a healthcare programme launched by the AP government to screen women above the age of 35 for NCD (non-communicable diseases).

The MMHC programme is being launched in more than 7,000 health sub-centres and would be used by 12,000 health workers to screen approximately nine million women in the next six months. As the technology partner, Dell EMC will provide the software solution consisting of tablet application for the health workers, web apps for the secondary-level and tertiary-level doctors, and dashboards for health officials.

“In our country there is an urgent need to improve basic healthcare services to women. A programme like MahilaMaster Health Checkup will surely improve women’s access to healthcare and reduce morbidity among them,” Rajesh Janey, President (enterprise, India and Saarc), Dell EMC, said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), NCDs account for 60 per cent of the total deaths in India. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes and respiratory diseases are the fast-overtaking infectious diseases and malnutrition, which were the main disease burden.
