Hyderabad: Sristi Organic Foods Private Limited, a city-based startup, on Thursday announced plans to establish a chain of organic food restaurants with the first one going live in the city later this month. It also lined up a chain of retail outlets that would sell organic food products.

“We have invested close to Rs 2 crore in our maiden organic restaurant vegetarian one, which we will inaugurate on January 26. These restaurants serve authentic Indian food made from organically-grown food products. “Over the next one year, we will open 15 restaurants. They will be a mix of company-owned outlets and those through franchisee route,” he said, adding that the plans were underway to open 200 restaurants in India and abroad by 2022.

The startup intends to tap health-conscious corporate employees and also schools that provide food to students in their premises. “Initially, we intend to set up our restaurants in up-market areas in metro cities before expanding the footprint to other locations,” he said.

On the plans for the retail outlets for organic products, Mahendra B Dalai, CXO, Sristi Organic Foods, said the company would open 500 outlets in next six years. “Each of our restaurant will have an outlet while the remaining will be standalone ones,” he said.
