The new outlet will bolster METRO’s strong position in the city by augmenting the existing base of nearly two lakh business customers. 

Opens 4th wholesale outlet in Hyderabad, 24th in the country

Hyderabad: METRO Cash & Carry India, one of the country’s large organized wholesalers, on Wednesday opened its fourth wholesale warehouse at Suchitra circle, Kompally, in the city. The new outlet will bolster METRO’s strong position in the city by augmenting the existing base of nearly two lakh business customers.

Arvind Mediratta, Managing Director & CEO, METRO Cash & Carry India, said: “The new outlet is 24th in the country. Hyderabad is a special market for us. We’ve witnessed fast growth in this market since 2006, and there’s still plenty opportunity for growth and expansion. Our motto is to be champions for independent businesses, by providing them complete business solutions.”

The 55,000-sqft new warehouse will help create over 350 jobs for the local economy. METRO India caters to over 11 lakh dedicated customers across the country, which includes small and mid-sized kiranas, hotels, restaurants, caterers and self-employed professionals.

Manish Sabnis, METRO India’s Operations Director for South and West India, said: “We’re convinced by the good potential of Hyderabad and that’s why today we are opening the 4th wholesale market in the city. With the extended network of our operations, METRO India is now able to provide more proximity and convenience for the local customers.”

Special offerings at the new Hyderabad outlet include over 51 varieties in rice, 22 in pulses, a wide range of ayurvedic products, including Patanjali & Sri Sri Ayurveda products, dedicated zone of organics and wellness products, live bakery, top brands in apparel, footwear, luggage & textile at attractive prices, disruption pricing in consumer durables and unique regional specialties such as home decor items from Muradabad and Jaipur and stoneware from Khurja.

As part of its corporate philosophy of supporting local businesses, the new METRO outlet will source at least 20 percent of its assortment from regional suppliers.
