Hyderabad: Supply chain and logistics firm Safexpress is looking to establish a logistics park in Andhra Pradesh. The company has opened new modern logistics park – its 32nd across India- in Hyderabad on Friday.
“We have plans to establish new logistics park in Andhra Pradesh on the lines of the new one we opened in Hyderabad. Two locations on our radar, but we are yet to finalise the plans. The new park in Andhra Pradesh will come in two-three years’ time,” Vineet Kanaujia, vice-president (Marketing), Safexpress, told The Hans India here on Friday.
The company is likely to set up the park either in Amaravati or in Visakhapatnam. “The park requires at least 10 acres of land. We may acquire more land if the location is outside city limits. Plans for AP park will be finalised once we zero in on a land parcel,” he explained, without disclosing the investment details.
The company invested Rs 30 crore on the new facility in Hyderabad. Established on eight acres and spread over 4 lakh sft, the logistics park which is strategically located close to National Highway 44 near Medchal is expected to cater to the warehousing needs of companies located in and around Hyderabad.
The company is developing the Hyderabad facility in two phases. In second phase, it will develop new facility on another 8 acres at the same location. “We have made a significant investment to set up the ultra-modern logistics infrastructure in Hyderabad. With this, industries in Hyderabad will have access to our world-class supply chain and logistics services,” said Rubal Jain, Managing Director, Safexpress.
