Hyderabad: Samsung India which currently enjoys 42 per cent market share in the sales of premium television sets across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is now looking at higher market pie in this space in Telugu states as it gets ready to roll out ‘The Frame’, a new range of upscale televisions priced up to Rs 4 lakh.

An outcome of two-year research and winner of ‘Best of Innovations Award’ at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in the US, the new premium television from Samsung doubles up as a work of art when not in use, enlivening the interiors of a drawing room.

In the Art Mode, The Frame displays the user’s favourite work of arts from the Samsung Collection or family photos. The new range is available in two screen sizes of 55 inch and 65 inch which are priced at Rs 2.75 lakh and Rs 4 lakh respectively.

“Samsung is the first one to offer the unique Art Mode in a television. We will hold the national launch of The Frame in Hyderabad on September 14 as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are key markets for our products with screen size of 55 inch and above,” Piyush Kunnapallil, General Manager, Samsung India, said on Friday. This national launch coincides with the global rollout of the product.

According to him, premium televisions with 55 inch and above account for 15 per cent of total TV business in India. “This segment is clocking an exponential growth of 71 per cent in Telugu states against 50 per cent nationally. With the new launches, we want to enhance our market share from 42 per cent to 55 per cent in AP and TS,” he said.
