Hyderabad: With an aim to consolidate its market position in hair oil market, Dabur India on Monday launched Ayurveda-based variant of Vatika hair oil in the city. Packed with seven ayurvedic herbs, the new hair oil, Dabur claims, will rejuvenate scalp and strengthen hair against fall.

“Hair fall is one of the most common problems faced by people today. Exposure to harsh sunlight, pollution and chemical beauty treatment have been taking a toll on hair health, making it dull, lifeless and prone to hair fall” said Rajat Nanda, Marketing Head - Hair Oils and Shampoos, Dabur India.

The new Vatika hair oil is an ayurvedic formulation which is clinically proven to reduce 50 per cent hair fall in four weeks, he claimed. Dabur has 12 manufacturing units across the country, but none of them are in South India which is the biggest market for Vatika brand.

“We will establish a plant in South India if our sales grow further here,” he said. Vatika brand contributes 20 per cent to Dabur’s hair oil sales, he said. According to him, hair oil industry is clocking healthy single-digit growth.
