Hyderabad: Korean electronics major Samsung is betting big on the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets for its system air-conditioning business as it looks to tap the growth opportunities provided by large-scale infrastructure projects being taken up by both the Telugu states.

“System AC business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is growing over 10 per cent a year against national growth level of seven to 10 per cent. This growth is fuelled by the government initiatives aimed at promoting infrastructure development in manufacturing, hospitality, education and real estate sectors,” Vipin Agrawal, Director, System AC, Samsung India, told the media here on Friday.

Samsung installed system air-conditioners at several projects across both the Telugu states. Currently, the company is deploying system ACs in more than 110 projects including hotels, residential complexes, corporate offices, hospitals and government buildings. Its clients in Hyderabad include Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Tata Boeing, Honeywell, Symbiosis and Government Mint.

Samsung which opened system AC business in India way back in 2008 has five products in its line-up. Some of them come with Internet of Things-enabled features. They included 360 Cassette Design which comes in circular shape and can be aesthetically fitted in the roof, 14 HP Side Discharge VRF ODU (outdoor unit), 30 HP VRF ODU, Slim 1 Way Cassette that can be a good alternative to split AC, and DVM Chiller.
