Speaking at the conference on manufacturing excellence, Man'exe 2017, organised by industry body CII to promote Telangana as a quality manufacturing destination, he further said that the government would also bring out a sectoral policy on food processing in order to encourage food processing industry.
He further said that changes happening in technologies indeed benefited lot of local players, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs). “This has been a result of the presence of world class institutions in Hyderabad such as BHEL, ECIL among others. This created a pan Indian culture in Hyderabad and a whole range of ancillaries to support the large PSUs,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jayesh Ranjan released the CII-YES bank report on “Make in Telangana: Creating a Sustainable & Globally Competitive Ecosystem”. The report focused on various policy initiatives introduced by the Telangana government to establish the brand of ‘Make in Telangana’. It also talked about some of the key institutional developments in the State and how they could support the State’s manufacturing sector.
Ramesh Datla, Chairman, CII National Council on Water and CMD, Elico Ltd., in his address, elaborated the role of CII in building competitiveness of the industries. “The CII Quality movement did create a good impact in enhancing quality in manufacturing.
CII also came up with various centers of excellences, like Green Business Centre, Logistics Institute, SME Institute of competitiveness, FACE, Sustainable Development Centre, besides others”, he said.
